"Saffuriya and Nahr al-Bared - Mohammad Abdul-Mu'ti" Video , Stories From the Sea to the River Project, 2023

This video documents an interview conducted by Tarek al-Bakri and Bayan Sukkar with Mohammad Abdul-Mu’ti, a resident of the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp in Tripoli, originally from the forcibly displaced village of Saffuriya. During a video call, al-Bakri connected with Sukkar and Abdul-Mu’ti, taking them on a virtual tour of the village. Mohammad Abdul-Mu’ti shared his memories of his depopulated village, recalling especially the Saint Hanah Monastery, the Saffuriya Fortress, and the amphitheater. He went on to describe the location of his grandfather’s house, the mosque, the olive press, as well as the village neighborhoods and the families who lived there. The video was produced by Shagaf for Digital Expression in collaboration with the "We Were and Still Are... Here" initiative and the Campji platform in 2022, as part of the "Stories from Sea to River" project, funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and supervised by Taawon (Welfare Association).
